Wild Monkey Hostel

You have everything you expect from a hostel. Bed, shower, kitchen, toilet and WiFi. Good value for low price.

There is nothing extra in my opinion, that’s why 7.

Location and 1 friendly staff

We were a group of 4 girls, we booked 2 beds in one room and 2 beds in another. As we arrive there, we are told that each one is staying in a different room. I step in mine (mixed dorm), and I see that the person with the bed under mine has opened all their stuff on the floor. I walked over pads and panties to reach my ladder. Staff who showed me in, ignored this completely. Upstairs on my bed, there was a small cupboard. It was open and inside tens of mice poo. I realised this at night and hence I didn't inform anyone. I felt disgusted. The bathroom was mixed and shared between 2 large rooms. When it was found available, it was missing either soap or toilet paper. In other words, no, it wasn't worth it. Hygiene should be excellent even with 5 dollars per night.

Very artsy and community like environment, centrally located and very accommodating with guest requests and needs. Super friendly and open. For this price you cannot ask for more.

Stuff is helpfull, location is on the main street for nightlife, 10min walk from main square

Bed matress is no good, pillows are super tiny, some plugs next to bed dont work, there is no light for each bed. Bathrooms were dirty, not cleaned even once in few days, only trash can once in few days. Having a soap in bathrooms would be nice and putting a sign also. There is only small paper sign written on the door but doors are open most of the time so you cant see it

probably the cheapest hostel in cuenca. good location. very social and easy to make friends. there were not many guests, just a ton of volunteers. has a cool outdoor space with a fire pit.

one of the dirtiest hostels i have been to. towels are old and stained, kitchen sponge/soap bucket is revolting, bathrooms were filthy and have no soap, and there's no ceiling on the en suite bathrooms so let's just say... you get all the smells and sounds while you're trying to relax in bed 🙃

This is an old building falling apart, no proper name on building. cracks and patches, and it was dirty, room door have no handle to be properly closed, no soap in washroom, the man in charge was quite nice.
