Olvera B&B Hostel en Olvera

we appreciated early check in. as thru hikers we were very hot and tired. we were warmly welcomed and had a very nice twin bedroom. nice kitchen space, outdoor area and place to dry clothes. the breakfast included fresh fruit and was very nice. The Hostal is very clean and the owner was doing a fantastic job of sprucing up the small courtyard off the kitchen.

the downstairs bathroom light wasn’t working and the shower tray does not drain quickly enough.

My room had no windows, bed is very short for person of 197 cm, no towel provided (need to pay extra but why - should be included), no water kettle kitchen, only one cocking plate which does hardly work, sofa on roof broken, etc. Just make all a bit better and it is perfect

Comfortable enough. Good location. Very accommodating management. Met some great people. I would describe it as more of a hostel. Regardless, I enjoyed my stay very much.

Only issue I had was when I tried to cook. Electric goes off on on. Not the microwave though!

The terrace.It's good that they give breakfast.

The uneven steps. The lack of free towels.The breakfast could have been more interesting and diverse.

i really liked that it had a kitchen, and coffee maker. coffee was tasty. also liked that that the breakfast was ready in a shelf. so you could eat at your own time. it was very easy.

Decent location, and not a bad place to stay, especially with nobody else in there and free roam of kitchen. bit of an issue with checking in but was sorted and lady seemed very nice. kitchen was pretty good

tricky check in, as nobody actually in the place when we tried to check in. was sorted though. a little bit overpriced for olvera? maybe but a decent enough place to stay. could do with hob in kitchen

This place is absolutely clean which made the lack of comfort tolerable.

I had low expectations for comfort at this place and that was pretty much what was delivered. A towel included really would have gone a long way. Shared bathroom was never a problem but not comfortable. Shower is so small that shower curtain clings to your butt. Makes you wonder who else’s butt it has clinged to. Thank goodness it seems clean. Because it clings to your butt you get water outside shower. No towel or anything available to wipe up water. To use toilet you have to step over bidet. If you are taller than 5 feet tall your knees are going to be pressed against wall when you sit on toilet. Also it’s on a street with quite a bit of traffic and as soon as you step out building you are on street with cars flying by. Be careful. I had a moment of panic at night when I stepped out for a puff and remote didn’t instantly open the door for re entry. All other times it worked fine but for a split second I thought I was gonna be locked out.
