Jaca Hostel Funchal

Jaca hostel е едно приятно и уютно място за престой във Фунчал. Всичко беше чудесно, получихме двойна самостоятелна стая с баня. Имаше си всичко необходимо, климатик, телевизор. Лесно и иновативно отключване на сградата и стаята. Има кухня, с всички уреди и чудесна тераса на която да си хапнеш. Персонала много мил и отзивчив. Благодаря за чудесния престой. Само на 10 мин от центъра.

I stayed in a private room with a friend. It was very clean, so well organised, the staff were very helpful. Everything was exactly as shown in pictures. The hostel isn’t exactly in old town but within walking distance which is great to be close but not too to avoid the noise.

Squeaky wood floors. I didn’t have earplugs so it was a bit disturbing but not too bad once everyone is in bed

The staff were all really friendly to chat with, and instantly made me felt welcome in Madeira. The welcome drink was a nice touch, and especially as I booked a solo room, it struck a nice balance of privacy while having the opportunity to interact with other people in the hostel. The location is super central and made exploring the rest of Funchal on foot super easy.

While the balcony area was nice, since it's also shared with the Jaca cafe, in the daytime, it wasn't super clear who is actually just getting a coffee and working there vs those who are actually staying in the hostel. This made meeting other people trickier than just by pure luck. The walls aren't the most soundproof, so if you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend bringing some earplugs as I often can hear people walking either in the corridor or even in the rooms next to me during the night.

Centrally located, clean and safe place for solo travellers. Cute cafe at the ground floor has good breakfast options. Walking distance to the marina and lots of food options. Staff was super helpful.

Perfectly located in Funchal. Room 8 was comfortable and clean. We had a comfortable stay.

For a hostel it did not feel very social.

Our room was near to the hallway, that's why it was a quite loud in the morning. We were missing jacket holders in our room.

It was in good location

The kitchen is really small, for 2 people max. The room was also very small and had no shelves, drawers etc.
