Aunt Rachel's Barn Hostel

Rural location. Great price. Private room within the hostel. Close to Coast.

Nothing to dislike, the bunk bed mattress could be better quality but I am by no means complaining.

The location is great. Its close to the giants causeway and other towns.

The bedding was clean but I found 4 hairs in the double sheet, maybe from the housekeeper. There was also hair on the bathroom floor. Someones old dirty sock was stuffed under the top mattress of the bump and was visible from the bottom bunk. Very poor cleanliness standards. It was very late at night when we got back to the room so didn't report it. Inconsiderate design e.g. there is no towel rail in the bathroom so you have to leave the towel and you're clothes on the floor, which wasn't very clean. Another example is the emergency lighting in the bedroom - it had a bright green light that's on even when the light is turned off, it lit up the whole room in a green glow all night. The room itself is large but windowless. Breakfast was cheap, prepacked/processed food from the local supermarket. It would be better not to offer breakfast instead spend the money on additional cleaners and better facilities.

Near to Giant's Causeway

They said on the website that the bathroom is private but is separated from the room, and I saw other people using it. This means that it is not private. The bed sheets don't smell clean at all

Exceeded expectations, peaceful and relaxing

Simple and have the facilities that we need and affordable.

The location is perfect for visiting the Giant's Causeway which is only a 5 minute drive away.

No toiletries in bathroom.

Stay here everytime we are up the north coast because it's very clean, comfortable, well equipped, friendly and very helpful staff. Never had any problems and will stay here many times again

Close to Bushmills. Even though the rooms & bathrooms are not connected its a quiet hallway with only 3 rooms total & separate bathrooms so its really no issue.

I contacted the host before my stay explaining that it was be a later check in than expected which was confirmed as no issue & if they weren't available then the room key would be left out. Then there was no further contact. Arrived to no one around & no key. Found host who got us checked in however they left us standing outside for quite some time in terrible weather because they told us to wait which we did. They also complained about how late we were even though they had been given 2 days notice & had already confirmed it was ok. Clearly our message hadn't been passed along to the relevant people & the whole thing was very off putting.
