Santa Cruz Hostel

I loved the location, just a block from the beach! The hostel was clean, had a huge garden, and the staff and fellow travelers were really friendly. It was great to see how much support it gets from the local community, with neighbors even stopping by on certain days.

Honestly, there wasn’t much to dislike! One of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had.

Cleanliness, great management, the cottages have character, so close to SC boardwalk, staff was friendly and helpful, kitchen was very well organized which usually I have seen in hostels is dirty and unclean.

Location - on one hand - was fantastic. But on the other, parking is a challenge. The Hostel doesn't have its own parking facilities. And street parking is metered or you need a pass. This was the only bummer. The only other bummer was that there was only 1 shower to be shared between the dorm room and 3 private rooms. They could use another shower per cottage. The dorm room while clean, had no air flow so it becomes stuffy if its full. Also no other facilities like reading lights for each bed and a phone charging point for each bed. That would have been appreciated.

Wifi was spotty in the room. Good in the dining area but not my room.

check in is good if you come past close time. self check in. I also appreciate the fact that you provide coffee!

There was a little more noise this visit at night but not bad.
