At Funicular Hostel

Generally a reasonably clean hostel, very cheap. Manager was friendly enough and tried to be of help.

I booked this hostel based on the excellent ratings. It is fair to say it is extremely overrated. The location is terrible, whilst it is technically not far from the centre, it is at the top of a very steep hill and has very little nearby. The hostel has no A/C whatsoever and only a few small fans. It is exceptionally hot in July/Aug, you will sweat continually and struggle to sleep as Tbilisi summer nights are hot, humid and still. The bathrooms are OK but one shower creates a pool of water on the floor each time it is used and the other has a toilet with no toilet seat. The mattress was old and I could feel the springs, and the bunks moved a lot if you moved. The hostel is full of people of questionable repute living there full-time, not at all an environment for travelers nor a good hostel vibe. I can imagine a female traveler would be particularly uncomfortable. After staying in over 20 hostels without issue, I had money stolen from my wallet here when my wallet was out of the locker and under some clothes for maybe a few minutes. Spend more money and book somewhere else.

Emplacement assez bien, thé et café gratuit.

La propreté ‘laisser vraiment à désirer, il y avait de petit vers noir dans la salle de bain. J’en ai parler au propriétaire qui a dis que c’était normal. Les lits sont peux confortable et il fait très chaud la nuit.
