Anda Di Hows Hostel

The location of this hostel was extremely ideal and overall was a great stay. Our group had no complaints.

This was my second time at this hostel in 3 weeks. Needless to say I enjoyed the location, availability of kitchen and kayaks. Seems there is always a good mix of people in this 10 bed dorm I want to express my appreciation to Pandora for all that she does to open her place up to travelers at a very inexpensive price compared to other places in Placencia. There' are not only the kayaks, but chairs for the beach, and hammocks around the yard for chilling. Thank you Pandora for all you do to offer a great place for backpackers.

Pandora could not have been more helpful, especially with transport directions. She has everything you need for a relaxed stay - kayaks, soap in the shower, lights and plugs by the beds, lines to dry your swimsuit. The place is screened as well as possible against mosquitos. It's right by a little place doing the cheapest food on Placencia and also pretty much on the beach. I was worried about the heat in the night but it was okay with the fan. I extended my stay an extra night.

The location! I also liked that every bunk had their small fan, ledge for storage, and light. The layout of the dorms was great.

The showers were slow to drain, the dorm area was a bit too dark even when all the overhead lights were on

Perfect location and a wonderful, chilled hostel to make the most of it. The sea is thirty seconds from the front door, and the nearest of many really good cheap places to eat is even closer. Pandora is an amazing host who goes out of her way to ensure that you have the best possible time here and is always on hand to help out with any questions you have about where to spot manatees, trips and tours, onward travel, etc. On top of it all, this has to be one of the very best value hostels in Belize.

Fabulous location, but essentially it was the helpfulness of Pandora that has bowled me over. This is one kind generous woman who has totally nailed what backpackers are after. She is so helpful and has created a great place to come and relax. Each bed has its own lamp and little table. They are very comfy beds!!

Could do with one more sink, and the light switches are hard to find as they are painted so colourfully! (this isn’t really a criticism just something to be aware of!)

I thought the host was very nice and helpful despite being busy with other work as well. She helped me plan the next stages of my trip, add an extra night to stay there, and when there wasn’t any space left she allowed my friend to stay in the inside hammock :D The kitchen seemed great with access cooking tools and drinking water, as well as some condiments and spices. The bathroom facilities were sufficient The place was kept clean, I really appreciated the nice lady helping to maintain the cleanliness. The sleeping arrangement was comfortable and nice to have a fan The storage units were very nice to have - I could fit all of my belongings inside Also the outside hammocks and free access to kayaks and snorkelling fins were a great addition The location is good as most places you will visit are not very far to walk to. It’s also 30 seconds to the water along a good spot on the beach without too much seaweed/rubbish. Wifi was also very good there.

Some privacy curtains could be nice on the bed but not a big deal, it might be too hot with them Initially I had a very small storage unit only suitable for your valuables only, there are small and big ones depending what is already taken One of the showers flooded out on to the floor one day but there is a drain, that could probably be fixed with a ledge like the other shower has. One of the bathroom sinks also could have been better. There was a large cockroach residing in the hostel that we failed to capture. I wasn’t too bothered but others weren’t so good about it lol Believe it or not sometimes it felt like the place was far away as it’s more towards one side by the pier and not central. But maybe I was tired, it’s not far wherever you go.
