We stayed at Faral Guesthouse for 3 nights while we explored the islands. Sao Mateus is beautiful and well located as a home base. Maria was a very kind host and provided us with a breakfast basket with a variety of food. The shared kitchen was well equipped. Our room was very comfortable. Parking was easy to find in front of the nearby church. Within walking distance to grocery store and good restaurants. We felt at home. Recommended.
