It's a shady place .what they show in pictures vs the reality is opposite.i dint feel like I booked a hostel

cafe was the best part but limited. rest of the property pretty beat up. staff was very kind

A great location with a beautiful view. A nice cafe above with good food.

We booked for 2 weeks since the reviews and pictures seemed great. We were, however, quite disappointed. We booked the large room, but there was no space to unpack our clothes or any facilities to make a cup of tea. The cafe above only opened after 8 am, so we had to go find a place in the center for our early morning tea. There was no toilet paper or even hand soap in the room. The hot shower does not work, as the hot water pressure is not enough - we could use the hot tap and bucket, though. If you need hot water, you have to ask the staff to switch it on and that took 20min. It would be okay for backpackers on a very small budget, but the reviews were so great that we ended up disappointed. We often stay in backpackers and hostels as we travel the world, and we usually find a great ambiance at all these places with very friendly and enthusiastic staff. We left after one week and moved somewhere else.

Rooms were damp but that might be because of the construction.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hostel was very nice!

It’s a bit contraignant to have to ask the reception every time you want to take a shower to have hot water. It would be nice to indicate on the ad that water is a scarce resource in Darjeeling.

Cleaniness

Too much rules for hostel and no parking space.
