Very cosy and stylish kyo-machiya in central Kyoto. The beds were super comfortable. Great value for money. Loved how old machiya got renovated but still preserved its original architecture and layout. It's perfect for solo travellers.

地點很棒,雖然離京都車站有段距離,但對體力和腳力好的人來說,這不是問題。其實最大的優點是,搭車方便、附近有超市(這很重要)、可以在高瀨川旁散步、也可以沿著鴨川散步,慢慢走到河原町、二三年坂、祇園等等必訪景點。住宿環境很乾淨,是很有特色的老屋改建,與網路圖片相符,真的很值得體驗。

Cette auberge à Kyoto a vraiment du charme car elle est très ancienne et traditionnelle. Tout s'est bien passé. L'espace est propre et il y a un coin commun agréable pour prendre son café et faire une pause. C'est parfait pour découvrir Kyoto dans un cadre authentique.

外観、内部共に歴史を感じられる。 宿泊者のマナーもよく、静かだった。

シャワーを使用する際に、前の人の髪の毛とかが残っているのが気になった。自分が使用したあとは流すとかルールに入れてもいいかも。

It’s an old house with authentic Japanese vibe. Beds were comfy. Great location, it was quiet and close to everything on the eastern side of the city.

I thought it was going to be more social. In the downstairs area there were only people who were working or studying, no talking no fun. If you want a more social hostel, maybe choose somewhere else.

I arrived around 2:30pm and check in time is 4pm but since the room was available, the staff checked me in and let me into my room which was much appreciated after the red eye flight. The facility was clean, cozy and had all the things I needed. I bought myself a pair of affordable slippers at the reception for my stay. The room came with towels, ear plugs, desk, lamp, mirror, bed side table with remote controls for the AC and the lights, etc. During my stay, I rarely heard my neighbors even though my room was across from the sink and bathroom. Everyone was respectful and quiet when I saw any. There's always someone working in the workspace downstairs so I felt safe going and coming at night. The area was beautiful and quiet, really near the stream with the beautiful walkway and very few people since it's not the north area which had more tourists. There are a lot of bike docks in the area to choose from so I biked a lot. There's also a train stop nearby. I loved this hotel and will be coming back.

Comfortable, clean amenities in a wonderful location. Furthermore, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!

La situation géographique, les lits spacieux et en sur, c’est à dire pas des lits superposés qui bougent.

Il n’y a pas vraiment d’espace pour laisser sa valise, c’est un peu compliqué lorsqu’on est en backpack. Et ce n’est pas la faute de la résidence mais des voisines qui changent toutes les nuits et qui sont toujours bruyantes.
