It's nice place

We loved our stay at Coco Garden. First of all, the hosts are extremely kind & helpful. We feel grateful that they’ve let us check in past the check in time (at 8pm) & storage our bags as we explored the ancient city the next day. The room & the bathroom were really clean which is always a plus. We really enjoyed waking up in the nature and walking to the ancient city, and we will for sure recommend this place if someone asks. :)

Beautiful place, close to the nature, right next to a rice field with lots of birds. It was really quiet at night and the fireflies in the rice field were magical. The room was basic but clean, and the hosts were kind. We needed to go out to have food, but it was okay. It’s a good value for money.

Lovely location next to palm trees and rice fields! Super peaceful, countryside living. I ended up staying two extra days just because of this guesthouse.

After 4 weeks in Sri Lanka, I'm not convinced the rating score is an accurate portrayal of each property. I am sceptical of any review by a person from the same country - too easy to get your friends to put up fake reviews. Not much apart from a nice quiet location.

This was our second night's stay in Sri Lanka, and again part of the reason I booked here is naivety, and part lack of investigation, & "misinformation" in the guide book I was reading. We were seeing the temples & ruins at Anuradhapura, and booked this place as it was fairly central to the main sites, and my impression was the easiest way to get around the temples was by bicycle (it isn't get a tuk tuk for the day), my partner isn't a huge fan of bicycles so thought this would save a bit of travel. I contacted the property prior to our stay to see if they had bicycles available to rent - the reply was yes we have two bikes you can use, or there's a bicycle rental place in the next street - neither was true!! Only one sheet on the bed, no air con (none was advertised, so I knew it was fan only, but it was still pretty hot in the room), the owners son speaks good English but less so the parents, so communication was difficult (admittedly I don't speak Sinhala so not entirely their fault), we had dinner and breakfast there but there was a degree of difficulty organising both meals, and we were watched throughout whilst we ate (a bit un-nerving for us). No bicycles, and isolated property - better if you have your own transport. We were initially booked for two nights but left after one.

Very kind people, very tasty (vegetarian) dinner, amazing location, a quiet place close to the touristic sights.

Beds could have been softer, but were not bad. Due to the heat wave, it was hotter then I had expected, and on hindsight, I should have booked a place with airconditioning. However, this is my own fault, I got what I booked, for a very good price.
