Pranaya Hiriketiya

I really loved this hostel - the room is nice and a/c works very well, which i feel is necessary in this heat. Staff is very helpful and accommodating and really go out of their way to help. Location is good, not far from the bus stop and a bit outside of the center so it’s quiet, but not too far from the center either. Lockers are big so you can easily fit your things in there.

Wifi was a little spotty at times, but I guess that’s just normal in sri lanka

The hostel was modern and clean with a lovely outside place to sit in the mornings.

The shower could sometimes get too hot and you couldn’t reduce the heat.

Comfortable and clean beds, own lamp and plug + locker, functioning AC and two showers (hot and cold) and a toilet. 6 minute walk to sunset bar and Hiri Beach. The whole facility is pretty new and due to the use of concrete pretty clean and keeps the dorm on d cool temperature, even without the AC. The owner and her partner are super friendly, helping out wherever they can.

No real common area but since the beach is so close by, it doesn’t really matter.

After spending a month or so in classic hostels, this was the perfect place to relax in Hiriketiya. The beds are very comfortable, there’s lots of space in the dorm, AC, free water refill and nice showers. Aside from the dorm is a shop and coffee garden where you can relax/chat with other guests. Also a great location to explore the local restaurants in Hiriketiya!

Staff were so accommodating. Bindu was brilliant. Very friendly and helpful with recommendations and checking that everything was ok. Really lovely hostel, it’s small and you get to know everyone. Super clean, great beds and showers, and nice garden where you can enjoy a great coffee and chill. Also really nice clothes shop, all clothes are their own brand and made nearby ethically. I highly recommend! So near the beach, perfect location. I have no critical feedback. Excited to revisit Hiriketiya and stay here!!

It’s not really a social hostel, there is not really a common area. It’s more a cafe with one dorm

This is my second time at Pranaya, and theres a reason why I stay here everytime I come to Hiriketiya. You get the most amazing hosts/owners in Dee and her boyfriend. Anything you need, they will provide (from drinking cups to transportation). Not only are the beds comfy and spacious but you also get a cupboard where you can put your massive suitcase and other bags in. The bathroom is amazing too! The garden outisde gives you amazing privacy where you can have a drink with your mates and all the party places are walking distance from the hostel.
