Denton House Hostel

The location ,it was well.managed, clean and quiet.

Booked on behalf of my son and his friends as a base before walking Blencathra. All four stayed in the 4 bed mixed dormitory and they were very impressed with the facilities and the location. They used the communal kitchen for their evening meal and walked into town for their breakfast, before walking that morning. The group stated that it was a really welcoming place, clean and a great option for anyone wanting to experience the area.

Super friendly and helpful staff, I felt safe and welcomed. Nice hikes around. Bus stop 2 min away. Good value for money

Location was perfect, kitchen was well set up and clean. Other guests were very friendly and made friends. It was clean and spacious. dining room was nice. Perfect for a hiking holiday.

On the third day the code to the main door was changed while I was hiking and I was not notified. Apparently it was sent to the phone number on my booking.com account, but since I was travelling internationally, I had a different phone number. Had I been notified that it was a possibility that the code would change, I think it would have been easier and less confusing. Luckily another guest let me in.
