Soni Backpacker House

The host was very nice and made us breakfast every day. The rooms are what you would except from a hostel in this price catagory, nothing out of the ordinary but functional. My friend and I shared the 4-bed dorm with one other guy. Every dorm has a little terrace out front with a hammock which is super nice!

The bathroom is spacious, otherwise the dorm doesn't have much storage room (a small trunk per bed, not much space to store your suitcase/backpack). The bunk beds moved a lot (which is a bit inconvenient for getting up & down) and the duvets had no cover. For a Hostel this price you can't expect everything to be perfect, so that's fine!

The place was great, in the centre of ubud, right next to monkey forest.. there were a lot of eateries nearby and small convenience stores as well as money exchanges nearby - everything a tourist wants Also, the reception guy gave me breakfast at 5:30 am because i had to leave early... And that too with a huge smile on his face... Extremely accommodating and friendly staff !

Friendly staff, close to yoga barn. Patio had a hammock which looked freshly washed which I appreciate.

Filthy. Dirty and very messy shared areas. The bedding was fresh but it was covering dirty mattress, dirty bed frame and a moldy pillow. Looks like the bathroom floor - ewww. The mop used to clean floors was black with dirt. The “lounge areas” are too dirty to enjoy- almost looked abandoned. As if no one cares about the place. The sitting area in front could be so nice if it was clean and tidy. It was not inviting at all. I know it’s low budget but I’d happily pay more for a safe, clean place. (We had the private room not dorm.) The fan worked well which is good because the ac is also moldy. Dangerous for anyone with breathing problems. We left early because I couldn’t sleep like that. it was a depressing experience actually. I can’t figure out why it has good ratings, it’s so dirty. Yes the staff is friendly (very). The breakfast was ok - delicious banana pancake, but doesn’t fill you up.

The staff is super friendly. The rooms are clean and the facilities are great. Very well located as well. Definitely, I would recommend this hostel
