It was quiet They let us in at 6am after an early bus the day before our stat

It was a construction site, paint and mess. They said they would leave food out for us as 6:30 was too early for breakfast. They didn't... Mud (I think) was stuck to the blankets. The neighbourhood was a particularly smelly part of Jaipur

You really feel the family aspect of this hostel, from brothers, nephews cousin-brothers, sisters, nieces etc. Such wonderful people who are really hospitable. The food is really good, free breakfast was appreciated and their veg curry was amazing. If you have time I'd recommend checking out their jems and jewellery tour, theres a small display in the downstairs common area which is really cool. The house has been in the family for over 200 years so theres a lot of history which is amazing. Nice atmosphere and good rooftop area.

The hostel is quie far out of town in a more residential area with lots of alleyways. At night I found it quite hard to navigate as a solo traveller. It is a bit far from most major tourist attractions (compared with more central hostels) but you can walk 35-40min to Hawa Mahal. Naturally that means the transport costs are a bit more expensive. I'd recommend coming in a pairs or a group so the cost can be shared between you. Only other thing is as the house is so old the bathrooms need a bit of plaster and plumbing.

Salim and the rest of his family were very accommodating and welcoming. They took the time to make sure my stay was comfortable and to include me in some of their meals.

Because it is the low season I was the only one there but it was nice after how busy Delhi was.

A cheap hostel with a nice rooftop and a small breakfast

The room and the sheets were dirty. The water and electricity stopped working multiple times a day. There was no ac so the room was extremely hot. The staff were impossible to find most of the time so you could not get the breakfast until very late.

Family is very nice and friendly, we had a wonderful greeting. And they went out of their way to assist us with an early check in. We had a private room, sheets were clean for us and the fan was working. Rickshaws are easy to get if you walk to the main road. Happy children are also ready to show you or the hotel :)

We think that the shared washroom could be a lot cleaner. It was hard to get the included breakfast, we did not manage to get in the two nights we stayed ( Ramadan could have been a factor) but we were told they were out of breakfast, market was closed many excuses were made and we saw other guests eating breakfast so we felt that was unfair. Our room could have been a bit cleaner as well and the over all facilities are a bit dirty. It’s not in an ideal location for sight seeing. Uber drivers don’t usually pick us up from this area. We think for the price of the private room, it should be cheaper for the quality of the accommodation. The terrace also needs cleaning and more seating options.
