Silver Dolphin Guesthouse & Restaurant

We got shown to our room and there was a massive (over 1m long and several inches wide) hole in the ceiling literally to the outside… you could see the buildings foundations through it. I’m not sure what they expect to happen when it rains. Mosquitos would easily fly in and obviously this room was not fit for purpose, so we asked for a refund and to cancel our booking after arrival. We still had to pay the $6.50 booking.com fare unfortunately. The staff didn’t seem concerned that there was a gaping hole in the wall to the outside. The whole place also smelled absolutely disgusting. Do not recommend staying here

Beliggenhed fin. Men alt andet elendigt. Vidste jo godt at det ville være ikke helt ok til den pris men fx dryppede der vand fra loftet, håndklæder var lavet af kunststof,sengebetræk hullet, ingen hylder til ens tøj, to meter fra vindue til vindue i skoleklasse. Havde booket to nætter men flyttede efter første nat

Great location

The experience was impersonal and transactional. Wanted to do the kayak trip but insufficient numbers so was required to switch to the boat trip which was not an issue. However paying circa $25 for effectively a relatively short tuk tuk ride to the little boat was disappointing. The dolphins were 100m off shore, not a word of explanation at any time on any aspect of the trip from anyone. It was slated to include ‘the mountain’. This element turned out to be a very small detour (few hundred meters) to the bottom of a flight of stairs. The ‘tour guide’ slept in the Tuk Tuk as you climbed the stairs to find a temple with a few equally indifferent monks who didn’t so much as look in your direction.

Das Silver Dolphin Guesthouse liegt schön gelegen mit Aussicht auf den Mekong. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir konnten einen Motoroller direkt über die Unterkunft ausleihen.

Leider ist der Zustand des Gebäudes nicht besonders gut. Wir hatten das Eckzimmer ganz oben mit Aussicht auf den Fluss. An den Wänden gibt es Schimmel und unter dem Bett ist es immer nass. Vermutlich fließt das Wasser aus dem Bad dort hin. Im Zimmer gibt es viele Insekten, hauptsächlich Grillen. Die Bettdecke hatte keinen Bezug. Es war auch etwas seltsam, dass die Besitzer der Unterkunft direkt in der Lobby schlafen. Generell haben wir uns nicht besonders wohl gefühlt.

Frendly staff and good vibes, the dorm room is really big so you have your space. The staff was really nice and helped me organizing the tour with the dolphins whis was amazing! Really raccomanded
