Die tolle Lage und Nähe zu den Tieren.

Man muss sich bei dieser Unterkunft mit einem Anfahrtsweg von ca. einer Stunde auf Schotterpiste einlassen.

Wir hatten ein ganz hübsches kleines Häuschen, die Dassie Suite, in dem wir uns total wohl gefühlt haben. Die Umgebung und das Reserve waren atemberaubend, es war so ruhig, erholsam und einfach wunderschön. Das Personal war ganz toll, sowohl im Restaurant als auch beim Game Drive. Das Essen war ebenfalls vorzüglich. Wir sind wirklich schweren Herzens wieder abgefahren, weil wir so gerne noch länger geblieben wären.

Nichts zu beanstanden

La chambre était au calme et propre. Les petits déjeuners et les dîners de notre formule demi-pension étaient de bonne qualité et copieux. Le fait de proposer des activités ( payantes ) est intéressant .

Lage, Lage, Lage, Natur und mega Strand

Sie hat Charme, aber in meiner Fig Tree Suite und in der Vlei Suite hat es unendlich nach Feuchtigkeit und alten Möbeln gestunken. Das war widerlich. Alle Sachen im Koffer mussten nach der Abreise gewaschen werden, weil sie diesen Geruch angenommen hatten. Der Service im Restaurant war nicht wie sonst überall in Südafrika freundlich und top, er was unaufmerksam, unorganisiert und einfach lahm und desinteressiert. Wir sind sonst so begeistert, hier waren wir nur genervt. Wer online arbeiten will, kann das nur am Restaurant tun, ansonsten keine Chance auf Netz.

Fabulous location.

De Hoop has it all for us. The reserve is a wonderful place for relaxing in nature, enjoying abundant wildlife, cycling and hiking among ostriches, bontebok and herds of eland, and looking at wonderful views over the vlei (wetlands) and the ocean. The De Hoop Collection offers a full range of accommodations from camping and self catering cottages to all inclusive suites as well as some large cottages complete with chefs. This time (our 9th visit) we stayed in the Vlei suite (a converted stable) which is spacious, luxurious, and very comfortable. Two chairs just outside are perfect for star gazing, for enjoying sundowners while looking the vlei, or for watching and hearing the animals walk by at night. The property also has two pools, which are excellent for cooling down after a hike or cycle. The restaurant is great. Tasty food, helpful and friendly staff and an extensive wine list. On this trip, we did not take advantage of any of the optional organized activities, but on previous visits, the marine walk and the boat cruise in the vlei were highlights.

Nothing. We are looking forward to our next (10th) visit.
