The hostel is in a very solitary location in the middle of the islandic pampa in the West fjords. There is absolutely nothing around, so you need to bring your own food as there is a shared kitchen and dining area. There is free coffee/tea. Altogether, the place is too small for the nr of persons it accommodates. There was a group of noisy girls that fully occupied the kitchen when I stayed there, had to wait until they were done as the kitchen was full. Same for the toilets, limited number for too many people. I got a bed in a small room for 4, one guy snored . There is a central heating device downstairs that is quite noisy and does not heat the toilets/shower area (cold in the morning). The owner is very friendly and answered all questions about roads.

Altogether, OK for the price but too small for the number of people it accommodates (can get crowded and noisy). Need to wait for toilet/shower and also the kitchen can only be used in turns. A matter of taste, but location not for me, prefer to have coffee/restaurant options around. Chose it as Isafjordur was fully booked and the available rooms were too expensive.

Absolutely stunning location - this little valley may have been our favorite place in what we saw of the Westfjords. The hostel was comfortable, on generations-old family farmland tucked in the mountains, and the host was welcoming and helpful. The maps with attractions were also helpful to get a sense of the area. All we could’ve asked for.

This cozy and familiar hostel is situated in a wonderful surrounding. The staff was very friendly and was very concerned about our wellbeing. We stayed not at the main building but in the nearby cottage. It was very quiet there and we had a wonderful view over the fjord. The sunset was amazing. The cottage is equipped with everything you need. The only thing which families need to know is that there is no door in front of the sleep cabins under the roof. But this doesn't disturb if you have good neighbours downstairs in the other two rooms of the cabin.
