Brunnerton Lodge and Backpackers

Upon arrival, we found parking at the rear and entered through the back door to access our booked room. This is a well-organized, small backpackers with a kitchen that covers all the basic essentials. We stayed for one night and felt the room was fair for the price. The shared lounge and kitchen feature a cozy wood burner, and the owners are incredibly friendly—they even offered my husband a beer! The location is excellent for exploring the Brunner Mine Historic Area, which is an easy walk (less than 1km one way) and rich with coal mining history.

While perfect for a one-night stay on a tight budget, the property is a bit rundown and could use a makeover; for instance, a hole in the kitchen window was covered with plastic. There is also a hole in the bathroom which is covered with a towel. Recommended for budget travellers!

Such a perfect place to stay in a lovely old building. Nice communal kitchen and lounge areas. Book exchange in the passage which I always appreciate. So pleased I stayed there, should of organised to stay longer.

Nothing to dislike, everything was perfect.

Beaucoup d’espace dans la pièce, et nous avions accès à une grande cuisine parfaitement équipée! Nous avons aussi été accomodés avec un lit de bébé, ce qui s’est averé très utile. Les propriétaires étaient très sympatiques. Bien que nous ayons un campervan, ça a fait du bien d’avoir un grand lit pendant notre voyage, et le prix revenait moins cher qu’un terrain de camping!

Il faisait un peu froid dans la pièce à notre arrivée, nous avons utilisé les petits chauffages d’appoints mis à disposition.

Très ancien, cependant dans notre chambre privative avec salle de bain, nous avons eu plus ou moins ce qu'il nous fallait. Chauffage ok. Le Wifi par contre ne fonctionne pas vraiment, se coupe souvent.

I loved to stay in this incredible house. It was lovely and we had an amazing time. Very recommended
