Even though this property calls itself a budget price, it is not value for money. Located in a local area with many people hanging outside and not clear advertising on which door to enter. The bedrooms appear to be an old office floor with rooms partitioned by wooden paneling, but there luckily were only 2 other guests in the place so we didnt hear any noise from them. The shower floor was a broken wood panel and dirty. The bathroom was dirty with overflowing bin. Mobile air con unit in the room balanced on a wooden box with water bucket to catch the pipe overflow.

Tenho a certeza de que os proprietários têm boas intenções, mas o alojamento foi… uma experiência memorável. Sessenta euros pelo quarto e pela casa de banho parece-me um valor ambicioso, para dizer o mínimo. O duche estava em condições tão “originais” que achei que seria uma pena estragá-lo. O espaço de arrumação foi gentilmente providenciado sob a forma de quatro cacifos de piscina — dois deles, para acrescentar ao charme, não abriam de todo. O ar condicionado parecia um belo exemplar de engenharia dos anos 70, admiravelmente barulhento, capaz de servir de despertador para todo o bairro. Os amantes da decoração certamente apreciarão o uso criativo de fita-cola na máquina de lavar, complementado por um arranjo “vintage” de flores de plástico. As toalhas, claramente viajadas, poderiam muito bem ter estado presentes durante a Revolução dos Cravos. O imóvel parece ter começado a vida como um escritório, mantendo as suas janelas generosas — e impressionantemente por limpar — bem como cortinas a condizer. Uma parede de linóleo completava o ambiente intimista e aberto, permitindo-me apreciar a conversa tranquila do vizinho durante toda a noite sem qualquer esforço da minha parte. Embora não vá incomodar as autoridades, sugeriria uma tarifa mais realista de 25€ por noite. Raramente escrevo avaliações, mas neste caso senti que futuros hóspedes poderiam beneficiar de uma palavra amiga. Afinal, é sempre bom saber o que se está a comprar.

I’m sure the owners mean well, but the accommodation was… a memorable experience. Sixty euros for the room and bathroom feels ambitious, to put it kindly. The shower was in such original condition that I decided it would be a shame to disturb it. Storage was thoughtfully provided in the form of four swimming-pool lockers — two of which added to the charm by not opening at all. The air-conditioning unit appeared to be a fine example of 1970s engineering, and admirably loud enough to serve as an alarm clock for the entire neighbourhood. Décor enthusiasts will appreciate the creative use of duct tape on the washing machine, complemented by a tasteful arrangement of vintage plastic flowers. The towels, clearly seasoned travellers themselves, might well have been present during the Carnation Revolution. The property itself seems to have begun life as an office, retaining its generously sized — and impressively unwashed — windows, plus matching curtains. A linoleum partition wall completed the intimate, open-plan feel, allowing me to enjoy my neighbour’s quiet conversation throughout the night without any effort on my part. While I won’t be troubling the authorities, I would suggest a more realistic rate of €25 per night. I rarely write reviews, but in this case I felt future guests might appreciate a gentle word of guidance. After all, it’s always nice to know what you’re getting for your money.
