Mahalo Hostel

Me gustó que tenía agua caliente nuestro baño privado y aire acondicionado + ventilador. También había una gatita hermosa que vive en la recepción. Tiene ropero y armadores. No había mosquitos.

No me gustó mucho la vibra de los hosts, creo que son voluntarios, son dos argentinos, es como si no les gusta hacer lo que hacen. No nos explicaban como funcionaba el desayuno ni que teníamos que lavar nuestro propio plato. Estaba de vacaciones y pensé que no iba a lavar platos en mis vacaciones. También la ubicación es adentro de una calle que olía un poco mal. El desayuno es muy repetitivo. Creo que el precio es alto para lo que realmente es el hotel. No dan shampoo ni jabón de cuerpo. Solo jabón de manos.

Great location and calm environment. The internet worked well, and there’s a kitchen for preparing food plus filtered water, so you don’t need to buy or carry bottles. The place felt clean - the staff did a great job, for example cleaning the bathroom in the evening between guests, so it always felt fresh. Overall, the hostel had a nice vibe with a mix of guests - some younger, some older - but everyone was friendly and respectful. There were no issues with noise or cleanliness from other guests either.

I think adding a three-story bunk bed was a bit of an overkill. Yes, it allows hosting one extra person, but each bed had only about 60–80 cm of headroom. I couldn’t sit up straight, and even crawling into the bed was quite difficult. When lying down, I couldn’t even stretch my arm upward. The regular two-story bunk beds had a much more comfortable amount of space. The staff’s approach also varied a bit. For example, one evening a staff member let me keep the outside lights on and just asked to turn them off before going to sleep. Another evening, a different staff member said he would turn them off at a set time, so I had to sit in the dark. On my first morning, I was too late to say anything when I saw a staff member throwing away leftover guacamole that hadn’t been served. The next morning, another staff member walked around and offered extras so we could finish everything - small differences, but they really make an impression :)
