Great that it's the old station. Not only that; it was the terminus of the first ever railway in Portugal!

It is an interesting building and the hosts who were excellent have done a great job in restoring and decorating the building. The branding which is everywhere really gives a good impression and the hosts were great in dealing with a minor hitch when we booked in. The room was simple but comfortable with a heater if required.

Ok for the price there was absolutely no problem. Doing the Camino a little bit more space to lay out and dry our clothes would be nice and juggling keys for the bathroom could be easier but really it was a great stay. Only point OUT of season is to consider where to eat. We had three nearby options on a Friday night: one round the corner 400m was shut. One on the corner 150m had the cheapest wine ever and a great host but no cooked food. One across the road had an open bar but the restaurant was shut!. However they kindly made us a sandwich. The sandwich was great,as was the beer and service. The moral of the story is in March, in Portugal when doing the Camino if you see food which isn't a sweet pastry...eat it!!!!! Bom Caminho ps the 4th option the cafe past the corner is good to get your credenza stamped in the morning and this will be your best ,(early on at least very basic) breakfast stop.
