Hostel Swastik

I really enjoyed my stay at Swastik hostel! This is a peaceful and very nice place with chill vibes. The owners and staff are very welcoming, friendly and always willing to help with any needs. The social environment is great too, I met very nice people and made new friends. I loved the dal bhat, I'm missing it already! Would love to go back one day.

The location is amazing, you are at the door of Bhaktapur's heart. I found superb that the owner and staff share with us the cultural events, they showed us around, told us about the traditional food and best places to eat and also enjoyed with us! We felt like a family there, everybody was very kind and helpful with anything we needed. Also the facilities are comfortable and clean, the place is super cool, warm space ideal to meet other travelers. But you can also find your space at the terrace and enjoy nice views of the city and mountains. We will definitely come back! Pd: We tried the best Dahl Bhat in Nepal here ;)

I loved my stay at Swastik! Such a personal experience as I got to speak with and get to know the owner and manager personally, who were both so friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the area. The hostel was clean and well maintained and the staff are always happy to help and genuinely want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I also met such nice and interesting people at the hostel, I can’t say I met anyone I didn’t like! The food was also amazing and really reasonably priced. I ate the best dal bhat I had in my whole Nepal visit and all the vegetables were organic and grown on the hostel’s own farm. Bhaktapur was also an incredible city with such a beautiful insight into traditional Nepali culture with the friendliest people!

The location was great, it was very easy to get around everywhere, the food was great, and the rooms felt clean and comfortable! The best part is honestly the people working here. They have become like family to me <3 I was staying here for almost a month and a half in spring of 2024 but I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did had I not bonded as hard as I did with Bishwo and Lena especially. We would eat together often, go out together, spend many late nights talking or jamming together or with other hostel guests and friends from the area, we made so much fun together! We'd spent the Newari new year together (Biska Jatra) and even took little day trips to Nagarkot for hiking and swimming. Staying here was a very special experience for me as I am sure it was for many other guests who have had the pleasure of getting to know the Swastik Hostel crew <3 I cannot wait to come back and see everyone. So much love to you Hostel Swastik, I miss you so much, and thank you for that time. If you are reading this, do consider staying here, I talk about this place to my friends all the time, it is very worth coming to Bhaktapur and staying at Hostel Swastik (:

Simple, cosy hostel , friendly stuff

I didn't like that to get to this hostel you need pay 1800r entrance fee, because it's located in heritage site, when we arrived the was no officers around so we could reach out hostel but later when we went for dinner on the way back officer run to us and required to purchase tickets in the and we agreed but we haven't enough cash so we asked him go with us 100m to the hostel and we'll pay for tickets officer was rude and refused to do it so we couldn't get to hostel until get dark,then we just luckily sneaked back to hostel,so be aware of that

This the best place where to stay in bhaktapur, you will meet an incredible staff very kind. The hostel is perfectly located to explore and get lost in the city.

Amazing staff, welcoming atmosphere. Felt like I could’ve stayed on for a long time - will definitely be coming back! Great location just tucked up a quiet street from town, tasty affordable food. Met lots of people here as a solo traveller:)
