HoStel Cosmopolitan*

Das Hostel ist - wie andere es auch schon schrieben - eher einem Hotel ähnlich. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, mehrere Räume um sich aufzuhalten. Besonders schön, wenn auch dunkel, sind die gut ausgestattete Küche mit Esszimmmer und die Bibliothek im Untergeschoss. Aber es gibt für alle die mehr Licht möchten, noch einen weiteren Aufenthaltsraum mit vielen Fenstern und Pflanzen und auch die Terrasse und die kleine Küche (ohne Herd, aber mit Mikrowelle) im Erdgeschoss. Dusche und WC sind auf 2 verschiedene Räume aufgeteilt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und die Busstation vor BILLA sind zu Fuss gut zu erreichen. Auch das schöne Zentrum von Banska Stavnica ist gut erreichbar, wenn man ein paar hundert Meter und einige Höhenmeter nicht scheut. Wenn ich wieder nach Kosice komme und in einem Hostel übernachten möchte, dann ganz klar: hier.

In der Küche fehlten ein brauchbares Brotmesser und auch Küchenmesser. Zum WC muss man ziemlich weit über den Flur laufen. Immerhin: er ist mit Teppich ausgelegt. Es gab da ein kleines Problem mit der Wand. Aus einem kleinen Loch tropfte Wasser. Das klang wie ein tropfender Wasserhahn. Der Hinweis wurde leicht schockiert von der freundlichen Receptionistin entgegen genommen und an den Chef weitergeleitet.

I had a very positive experience at Sotel Cosmopolitan. The facilities were superb — much more like a hotel than a standard hostel. Everything was clean, modern, comfortable, and very well maintained. I was especially impressed by the excellent value for money and the great service provided throughout my stay. The overall experience was excellent, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

As a small suggestion for improvement, it would be helpful to provide more detailed instructions for guests arriving late at night. The address provided for key collection, which is also what appears on Google Maps, leads to the front of the building and not the narrow and dark street on the back where the entrance was. It was not easy to find the hostel sign located at the back entrance, and having clearer guidance or signage at the front would make the arrival process easier for new travelers. Apart from that, everything was great and I truly enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at double room with private bathroom. Cozy room, well equipped kitchen and other shared facilities, such as a library, terrace ... Close to the city centre.

We managed to turn on a fire alarm - very sensitive. We recommend to cook only with windows open, as there is no cooker hood. Kitchen knifes need to be sharpened ...
