Lovely Bean Hostel

週六晚上來住花蓮市區，意外訂到700元雙人雅房，對於會打呼吵人的我真是一大福音，青旅位於火車站附近，對面就是好幾家餐廳，趕在孫東寶打烊前飽餐一頓。

The owner was extremely out of touch and rude. I checked in as a solo traveler on the road for months, and I had communicated at check-in how long I’d been traveling and that I was feeling sick and extremely tired from recent days. With the heat and humidity of the country, I felt really out of it the next day and couldn’t handle being outside and I forgot to take off shoes one day, but brought them downstairs a few hours after I realized I forgot. Later on, I still wasn’t feeling well and I also forgot to give the key back right at checkout although I communicated I was sorry and came back right away to give them back and put shoes back as soon as I realized. I was suffering a lot from feeling unwell. I apologized that I was feeling forgetful and not feeling well, but the owner seemed to not care about anything I said and tried to call me to yell at me, and sent me a barrage of messages calling me disrespectful and how other guests complained about me. It was very unfair, rude and offensive! He kept sending rude messages despite me apologizing and I felt harassed after being unwell. Not really my fault if you’re sick on the road and I feel I didnt deserve to be treated this way. When I had been told I brought the shoes upstairs, I brought them back right away, and did my best through my splitting headache and sickness. This was not a nice way to treat your guest even if I was forgetful because I communicated apologies and fixed any issue that came up. It was very hard to deal with this while I was sick.

Located 15min walking from the train station, surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. Super nice owner!

It was clean in general, but I'd take more care about the toilets on the 3rd floor.

Terrible experience – avoid at all costs! One of the worst hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The facilities are absolutely run-down. The mattress was thin, rock-hard, and made it nearly impossible to sleep. The air conditioning didn’t work, which made the nights unbearable. The bathrooms were filthy – no cleaning at all, and the smell was awful. To make matters worse, during checkout I felt pressured and rushed. But the worst part? After returning from a long, sweaty hike, I was denied a simple shower, even though the hostel was completely empty. No empathy, no hospitality, just pure disrespect. This place is a disgrace. Dirty, uncomfortable, and run by people who clearly don’t care. Totally NOT recommended. Stay away!
