山多香青年民宿 Santhosham Hostel

The owner of the hostel is a very interesting guy, he gave me so much information and gave me a great introduction on the culture and history of yilan. I was a very peaceful place with a great coffee shop and restaurant nearby

It was a little bit out of town, I would recommend it for someone with a scooter or bicycle, a lot of cool bicycle paths nearby.

The host is super friendly. He gaves me a lot of advice and tips for my trip.

The owner went truly above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. He was ready to help even with the smallest of problems and also introduced the entire region and its history to me. He was also very resourceful with recommendations in the entire area all the way to Jiaoxi (not just the county). Additionally, he was kind enough to drive me on his scooter and guide me through the large temple nearby and also took me to a huge local night market that is organized only on certain days in the month. He truly made my experience exceptional and I will always positively look back on the time I spent there.

The only downside is the location. I didn't have a motorcycle so I heavily relied on public transport which only operates every 2 hours or so. But the buses were also a cool experience for me. It's just the time sacrifice you have to account for both ways when planning day trips to nearby areas.
