Fabulous guest house. Clean, comfortable, cozy and charming. Beautiful garden and tasty breakfast. I really appreciated its facilities - refill water, tea and coffee, kitchen equipment, games, sitting and chilling spaces

Kiwavi Home is paradise. The grounds are immaculate and lush. There are multiple outdoor and indoor lounge areas. The breakfast is plentiful and utterly delicious. And all the staff are so incredibly welcoming and friendly. It is secure and safe. Altogether, Kiwavi home feels like…home. We stayed for 2 nights prior to climbing Kilimanjaro. I had to come off the mountain early, but I was actually delighted to, because it meant I could spend more time at Kiwavi Home! It is the sort of place you want to spend time enjoying. The vibe and facilities and people are welcoming and comforting.

Because it is in a residential area, it is not safe to walk alone at night, and apps like Bolt and Uber don’t work in Moshi. You can, however, hire a bajaji (tuktuk) very inexpensively, and Simba (the owner of Kiwavi) will help you do this.

From the moment you step through the door, this place feels like home—a truly unique and heartwarming experience. The host goes above and beyond, offering incredible hospitality and making everything feel effortless. Whether it’s organizing tours, sharing insider tips for the best local restaurants, or ensuring every detail of your stay is perfect, their care and dedication shine through. The breakfast here is simply outstanding—easily the best I’ve ever had and worth highlighting on its own. And if you’re lucky, you might catch a breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro while relaxing on the rooftop. Every moment spent here is a delight, and it’s the kind of place that keeps calling you back. I can’t wait to return!

Amazing place to stay. Exceptional hospitality. The owners give suggestions and help in everything. Comfortable and large rooms, comfortable beds, exceptional service. English, German and Swahili speaking (and maybe more..) Feeling of a real home in the heart of Africa. Thank you Chui and Simba

the owner Joy is extremely friendly and helpful (helped us with onward transport to Lushoto), comfortable room and common area, mosquito net without holes, amazing breakfast, rooftop terrace with brilliant view of Kilimanjaro, beautiful garden, lovely cat and very friendly dog, part of the room price goes to local communities

We immediately felt welcomed and at home at Kiwavi Home. Our family room was super spacious and comfortable. Loved the vintage feel of the bathroom and dressing! The breakfast was scrumptious and different every morning. The outside lounge areas at super cosy and we really enjoyed discussing with Joy about the social work she and Simba conduct in the villages neighbouring Moshi. We will definitely come back!
