This is a very cool place! I couldn't believe how reasonable the rates were, in January at least! It's located only a couple of blocks from the beach, is very contemporary in design with an equipped, open floor plan style kitchen/family room with large screen tv which, at that time at least, didn't have closing hours, which was nice. There is a swimming pool and a coin laundry. The room I stayed in was huge and the top bunks had no barriers but there are large lockers under the beds which come with your bedding and a towel. They supplied the locks.

The minute I opened the door to the hostel the smell of mold was overpowering. I have mold allergies so I'm hyper-hyper-sensitive to it. I found the smell lingered half way through the hostel but had dissipated by the time I reached my bunk but you have to expect it this close to the beach. The showers in my area had nowhere to comfortably leave your things and were co-ed, which didn't bother me, but I also did want somewhere inside the shower stall to hold my belongings comfortably so I could get dressed. The hair dryers weren't working the morning I checked out. All in all though, I would have stayed longer if I hadn't already booked another place.

I love the location because is very near to South Beach and Ocean Drive. I loved the pool!

I didn't like the lack of power outlets near the bed and the policy of not putting curtains on the bed. I didn't like waking up to the police inside the hostel with flashlights, day after day.

The location is very good and close to everything

There is absolutely no privacy, the place is very dirty, and some guests have no sense of boundaries or respect. The bedsheets were dirty, and so were the towels. The kitchen and shared areas were also unclean and poorly maintained. On top of that, there is constant noise and light, even at night, and the place smelled very bad, like a sewage or bathroom odor. Overall, the stay was extremely unpleasant.
