Hava Homestay

Vani the owner made us feel so welcome and she was extremely helpful. Finding vegetarian food can be tricky in Lang Son so Vani cooked us a special veggie meal and wouldn't accept any extra payment for it. She speaks great English and helped us arrange our onward travel and accommodation. She's a hero and her cosy homestay is a must.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and respectful. The homestay is run by a young English teacher, her husband, and her mom. They provided shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and body wash for communal use in all the shared bathrooms. The toiletries were in large containers that are more sustainable than the individually wrapped toiletries that other hotels usually provide. They also gave tips of where to go, what to eat, and things to do. Their motorbike rental cost is reasonable. The staff helped me book the transportation needed for my next leg of the trip. They also let me use their phone when mine didn’t work and I needed to be in contact with the airlines about my bookings. Overall, a really warm environment.

The plumbing of the shared bathroom could have been better maintained but it didn’t ruin the overall positive experience. The homestay provided the friendliness, warmth, and safety that I needed to recoup during my long travel.

The homestay is in a central location. The dorm bed is comfortable enough for 2 people. The shared restroom is clean. Hosts are friendly and willing to help. Very cheap price for a short night stay.

The other guests didn't respect the rules. At 3 am they still played videos with sound on, disrupting other people's sleep. And at 7 am they made loud noise too. The AC wasn't always on either, I guess others must have turned it off at midnight, making it very hot and difficult to breathe. I know this is beyond the host's control, so no blame on the property. Just a heads up that you might want to book a private room instead for privacy and comfort.

Lovely family! Cute private room and balcony area on top floor! Really hospitable! They made sure we had rain clothes before we left on our motorbike. The room smelled nice as well and everything was clean.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The family was very nice. The staff was really very attentive and helped us a lot during our stay. The small terraces, the lounge area and the bedrooms are really very cute and very pleasant.

Great location, with a fantastic owner who was so helpful and knowledgeable.
