The Bunker Bir

Nothing, got scammed, I booked 4 bed dorm and they offered me a bed in tent, at the side of main property, and upon asking refund they refused. And nothing was mentioned in booking that it will be tent room.

I stayed at this hostel in Bir for a week, and it genuinely felt less like a stay and more like finding a temporary home in the mountains. From the moment I arrived, everything felt easy and welcoming. The place has a warm, relaxed vibe that makes it effortless to settle in. It’s one of those spaces where you don’t feel like a guest for long, you just become a part of it. The stay itself was smooth throughout, with everything well taken care of without ever feeling too formal or rigid. A big part of what makes this place special is the hosts, Karan and Bhavya. They are not just running a hostel, they’re creating an experience. Friendly, present, and genuinely kind, they make an effort to connect with everyone. By the end of my stay, they didn’t feel like hosts anymore, but like friends. They’re also great at showing you a different side of Bir, taking you to hidden spots you probably wouldn’t discover on your own. There’s always something happening here. Whether it’s live music sessions, cozy movie nights, or just evenings spent playing board games with other travelers, the atmosphere stays lively without ever being overwhelming. It strikes a really nice balance between social and peaceful, so you can choose your pace. The community feeling is what stayed with me the most. Conversations flow easily, people connect naturally, and you end up making memories without even trying too hard. And finally, the cafe deserves a special mention. Every single thing on the menu tastes amazing. You can tell there’s care in both the food and the experience. It’s the kind of place where you end up eating more meals than you planned, simply because everything is that good. Overall, this place is more than just a hostel. It’s an experience, a community, and a little pocket of comfort in Bir that you’ll probably not want to leave.

I loved the people staying there and the hosts, Bhavya, Karan, Ankit were just amazing. Food was good too. The weather was an unpaid character. The location is beautiful. I wanted to stay for more days, and next time its going to be that.
