International Inn Kokage

The staff are sensational. So friendly and helpful. Location is excellent close to busses train station and lots of restaurants and onsens.

The onsen in the inn was closed. There were tokens to go to another one right near by. You needed to request for the hot water to come on and I took about 5 min running for the water to come hot.

It was convenient to train

It was EXTREMELY noisy and if you wanted to have a shower you had to go down to staff and ask for hot water.

温泉のお風呂がない事

寝具は洗濯されていたが、ベットに入るとシーツがビリビリに破れてたのには引きました。 しかし、場所はとてもいいし、お風呂付きでなくともすぐ近くに名湯があり、入湯券もいただけます。 また、ご飯もついていませんが、モーニングから食べるところはたくさんあります。 再訪は、今回同様泊まるところが見つからない場合に限り考えたいと思います。

Location is good, and the owner (staff) quite friendly

The room is old and dated (if you like vintage, this place is stuck in the 70s-80s) No hot water in the shower room, you need to specially inform the staff / owner lady to switch it on. I didn’t bother after checking the water pressure is so low and water is flowing so slowly. I opted to go Onsen for the 2 nights that I stayed there. The toilet (toilet and shower room are separated)- there’s no leg space for you when you use the toilet. You can’t really close the door completely if you need leg space- you can see from the photos. I felt bad for the owner/ staff lady. She can’t really speak English but she has been trying to be helpful. Only suitable for young, solo traveller. If you need normal hotel comfort, it’s not for you

Authentic, home-like experience in the very center of Beppu. The host is super kind and helpful. As it is old building next to the central road, it can be a bit noisy in the evening, but nothing terrible.

Excellent Location for exploring downtown Beppu. Also the traditional inn/ryokan atmosphere is alive and well here. The owner is warm, friendly and helpful. This is nothing like a modern hotel; it's a vintage, one of a kind Japanese inn.

Just that the hot water flow was on the weak side, but the owner gave us free onsen tickets to any of three nearby centers.
