A nice location, clean, big social space. Well worth the money

No reception until 4pm. Don't bother coming early if you plan on leaving your luggage. Not a big deal though, it is a budget hostel afterall so can't expect everything.

Charming spot, commons room is quite nice. Room is less cramped than most dorms in Japan.

Bed was very uncomfortable (very hard/insufficient cushioning) and room quite stuffy. Location is nice, but a challenge in snow with luggage. Check in is 4pm, too late to enjoy the city on the day of arrival. I arrived at 340pm and before even greeting me, was informed check-in was at 4pm and I couldn't check-in early. I already knew this and was there to have a drink in advance (bar opens at 3pm). But it was a poor first impression/welcome.
