La Urraca Loca Hostel

Good location. Despite being in the middle of the jungle, there were no bugs in the rooms (I did find a massive spider in the toilet lol)

The lady at the frontdesk seemed annoyed every time you asked her a question. The topsheet of my bed kept coming off, which was really annoying, because I always woke up on the mattress instead of the sheet. The street leading up to the hostel is completely dark at night and I got chased down it by a dog from one of the neighbours, which was a bit scary.

So peaceful. A very friendly and gentle space to relax after taking in a day around the island. Or just to chill and soak up the heat. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Well above expectations. Breakfasts and smoothies were delicious.

Zbyt gorliwie gaszone swiatlo o poranku. Niestety przewrocilam sie o 5.30 nad ranem bo nie widzialam sciezek wylozonych kamieniami. Zapalilam swiatlo ale zostalo za chwile zgaszone. Troche cienkie sciany miedzy pokojami.

This piece of paradise has everything you need. Yoga shala, chilling terrasse to relax, a well organized and clean kitchen, delicious meals and outstanding garden. Patricia had plenty of tips and places to recommand to enhance our experience. The location is central to everything we needed, Small fruits/veggies stands and many restaurants.

We loved everything about this placed.

The hostel is really cute and full of greenery which is nice and the staff is very helpful, you can easily book a lot of tours through them and i wouldn't say they are crazily overpriced (they are of course slightly over priced than if you know the guides directly but still saves you the hassle to organize and contact people). I did the conception hike and the kayak tour and was very good! Also, the food at the hostel is quite good (and served until 4pm which is also a good hour if you want an afternoon snack after thr hike or whatever).

The road to go there is quite rough. In general, the location could be better, but generally everyone rents a scooter so i see that then the location is ok (i didn't ). It's also very close to where people start the madera hike, but it's kind of far to start the conception hike (like 40 mins by scooter going not crazy fast as, as i said, roads are not the best). I didn't know that beforehand so perhaps keep that in mind. On the other hand, it's close (walking distance) to finca magdalena and el pital (both worth a visit). Another thing to keep in mind, neither a downside nor upside, just depends what you are looking for, it's very quiet hostel, basically lights are off at 10 pm. (For me it was great, but if you look to socialize and party then that is not for you)

Was uns gefallen hat, ist die wunderschöne, sehr liebevoll und tropisch gestaltete Anlage mit vielen Details. Je nach Dorm oder Privatzimmer ist alles thematisch abgestimmt. Man merkt, dass dort sehr coole Leute zusammen kommen und dass die Besitzerin mit viel Herz dabei ist. Der Service ist super persönlich und hilfsbereit, man bekommt ehrliche und gute Tipps. Das Essen ist ein absolutes Highlight, besonders die Marmelade🥹. Dazu kommen schöne Chill Areas, eine ruhige Atmosphäre und insgesamt ein sehr herzliches Gefühl.

Was man beachten sollte: Man ist sehr naturnah unterwegs, also quasi im „Dschungel“. Kaltes Wasser gehört dazu und nachts kann auch mal ein Tier wie eine Tarantula dich vom Duschen abhalten. In Dorms kann es je nach Mitreisenden auch mal lauter werden, was bei einem Hostel aber grundsätzlich dazugehört. Ansonsten hatten wir kaum etwas auszusetzen und haben uns insgesamt sehr wohlgefühlt.

Super leuke en knusse plek met een fijne sfeer. Het ontbijt is daarbij ook echt heerlijk. Aanrader!
