Palafito Hospedaje Vista Bordemar

Great place with a lovely terrace, seagulls as company when tide is high, 15' walking to get to Castro and pick one of the routes of magic Chiloé. Vero, the owner, is helpful and friendly and for sure will make you feel at home.

It was a delight to stay in this Palafito. Right from the initial whatsapp received from Vero asking about my arrival plans. She left everything ready for me to simply walk into my lovely room on arrival in the early evening, plus reserved me a table at Terraza 1326, an amazing restaurant 3 doors down from the Palafito which I was able to just walk to after an 8 hour bus journey to Castro. In the end my plans changed and I decided to stay an extra night and Vero was able to accomodate my changes with no issues. Sleeping with the curtains open and being woken by the sun in the morning as it shines on the Palafitos and lights up the bay was one of the highlights of my trip.

I think the breakfast could have been a bit more substantial.

The interior of the hostel is designed very tastefully, picking up traditional elements of the Island. Furniture and facilities are pretty new and clean, the kitchen is inviting.

The room was beautiful, well-decorated, and cozy. The fact of being by the sea with a nice view of the canal and bird watching was certainly a nice plus to the place.

We were quite disappointed about the breakfast, as one would have expected a nicer meal when the breakfast was included in the accommodation price. It was a bit of a lacking point to take into consideration as room for improvement.

The house was so quaint and comfortable. The check in experience was so easy, and my host gave great recommendations. It was very fun to be staying in a palafito in Castro! She even let me borrow a raincoat, because I didn't have one.

My small simple room was upstairs, shared bathroom was downstairs near the kitchen Breakfast was really mean & not worth having Worst was that host sent messages to everyone else in the hostel to tell me to leave the money (cash)in a drawer by the entrance rather than direct with me - which was embarrassing as it sounded as if she didn’t trust me & yet trusted everyone else knowing where I was leaving the money - but became funny when different people continued to give me messages - 5 in total!One message would have done,,meeting me at the hostel would have done, contacting me direct would have been perfect! She said it was because I didn’t speak very good Spanish. Also I messaged her many times via booking.com using Google translate but never got any replies. I also seemed to be charged more than the others for staying - $65 for just me, 1 person, downstairs bathroom, otherwise $50 -$55 for 2 people

the palifito was charming and small but had everything needed for a perfect stay.artistic, colorful lots of relaxing spots and a great quiet location of other palifitos. 3 restaurants within 5 minute walk. our favorite was the last on the right el argul.....gourmet amazing meals.

The house is very pretty and everything clean! Communication was uncomplicated and the hosts helped us with every question we had. We could use the kitchen. Just down the hill from the city and therefore very peaceful.
