Caroline lodging

L’accueil a été parfait. On est arrivés par un bus tôt le matin et on a pu prendre possession de la chambre dès 6h avec petit déjeuner offert. Un bon réconfort après une courte nuit! Le petit déjeuner est bon. Nous avions pris une chambre double privative avec salle de bain commune et tout était très propre et confortable. L’hôtel était bien placé et tout était facilement accessible. Les hôtes sont très accueillants, très gentils et ne sont pas avides de conseils! Il est d’ailleurs possible de réserver des sorties directement à l’hôtel. La cuisine et l’espace commun sont très bien et permettent de rencontrer du monde. Pour 5 soles par kg, possibilité de faire laver son linge. Il revient dans la journée si vous le déposez le matin, donc très pratique. Possibilité pour 5 soles de prendre une douche avant de prendre le bus même si le checkout est déjà fait! On a même pu rester dans les parties communes après le checkout pour éviter d’attendre à la compagnie de bus. Les horaires sont donc un gros plus de cet hébergement !

Le seul point négatif est le bruit des chiens la nuit qui se battent parfois dans la rue. Malheureusement les hôtes ne peuvent rien y faire. Cela n’empêche pas de passer un bon séjour !

Paul and his family were so so helpful and welcoming. Talked through all of the logistics of the Santa Cruz trek with us, made it incredibly clear and easy to do as a self-guided option. Massively appreciated this as his suggestion was better than what we had read online (combining lake 69 with Santa Cruz over 4 days). Also able to book transport to the start as well. Tasty breakfast included, and really nice terrace overlooking the mountains and rest of the city.

Rented kit as well through the hostel. In hindsight may have been better quality to go through one of the kit hire shops in town, but good prices and convenient having it all in one place.

No podríamos haber escogido mejor hostal. Super bien situado, cerca del centro pero en un barrio tranquilo sin ruido. El personal super simpatico y atento y el desayuno una maravilla. 100% recomendable, repetimls despues del trekking del Huayhuash

We had a very nice 5 days here. There's definitely a hostel/hiker vibe which was very cool. We always had someone to talk to at breakfast or go on some hikes with. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a real highlight. Every day we had something different prepared fresh for us, eggs, pancakes or waffles etc. and the bread served at breakfast was probably the best we had anywhere in Peru. The biggest positive was the friendliness of the staff and the great advice given by Paul (the owner) about what hikes to do and how to handle the logistics. He helped us arrange Laguna 69 and Laguna 513 and a few other day trips while we were there so the stress of trying to find a ride was taken away. He must have done everything a hundred times because he knows the area very well.
