DEThis is a very friendly backpackers with a extraordinary helpful owner, very nice staff, a good kitchen to cook your dinner and nice views from the balcony. Also a good bar and free breakfast. Very recommended.

ITThe hostel itself is seriously cool. Multiple and spacious common areas, both internal and external (great views!), nicely decorated, ideal for relaxing and meeting fellow travelers. Staff members (beyond the young owners) do not speak English but are very efficient and excel at making themselves understood regardless - BIG UP in particular to Josephina (aka Mama-Baraka) who warmly welcomed me upon arrival showing me around the hostel and checking me in, and kindly assisted with onward transport arrangement at checkout.
The hostel bar, popular with NGO workers and international volunteers and lively at weekends, while a cool place to hang out in turn, is WAAAY too close to the hostel rooms. Which may be convenient for the party animal type of traveler, but if you are more into exploring by day and getting a good night's sleep, the loud music pumping until 4am may not be your best bet.
GBWe booked Hidden Valley Backpackers for a break in a busy holiday schedule and it proved perfect. The neighbourhood was quiet, not too far a walk from Iringa centre and the staff were friendly and helpful. The on-site bar and pool room was a great place to hang out in the evening and it served a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It was also a great base from which to explore local sights such as the rock paintings at Igeleke and the stone pillars at Isimila. Highly recommended and great value for money.

PLBeautiful location, in a secured neighborhood. Nicely designed common areas, bar, fireplaces.
The area around the kitchen stove is infested with cockroaches. They need to prioritize it. The cleaning lady was cleaning the whole property every day but something is not enough in the kitchen.

There is no signboard outside the hostel. I wasn't sure which gate to knock when I arrived using Google maps
USEverything was OK except ...
Location ... very far up a hill and a good walk away from the center. Inconvenient if you are not traveling by car (many backpackers don't.) Also, there is NO sign on the gate to the entrance. It was difficult to identify which gate to bang on since it is nestled next to neighboring properties with gates (and Google Maps does not always perfectly mark a location.) Glad we did not show up after dark.
DEIt’s really cosy, family vibes, great views and a space to hang out in the evening. We highly recommend and hope to come back some day!
IEEverything was absolutely excellent from the welcoming staff to the location over looking Iringa with a beautiful space to sit on overhanging nets and drink a few beers. Bathroom and bedrooms were spacious and comfy. Very nice bar located on premises with a pool table. The owner is wonderful. Could not recommend this place enough and for such a reasonable price
