Exactly what we needed right down the street from Jiufen Old Street. Simple but good accommodations.

The lack of staff was a bit disconcerting, but ultimately they helped us virtually as we needed so it was not a problem.

Very good for travellers. Great location! Only walking distance to All the main attractions in Jiufen. The nearest bus station is the temple station you can take bus to Taipei/ Ruifang (to shiffen). If you have google map it Can Guide you to anywhere. Check in : Heard about the downside of the check in from reviews, but actually it was a very easy step as long as you Have Line app, just contact the property there they will guide you clearly.

This place will go down very well with western backpackers. Staying i Jiufen for a few nights was very rewarding. As beautiful as the famous tea-house is, the old street is packed during the day, even mid week. It didn't take long to loose the crowds on the hiking trails, and the ever changing mountain scenery is superb. Small rooms, yes, but with these facilities you don't need more. The common bathrooms were very nice and immaculate clean at all times. The room was very comfortable, I loved the fluffy duvet, and the room had both Aircon and a heater, so your wet stuff will dry up if you get rained at. Both floors have a balcony with tables and chairs, and the view from there is really nice. It doesn't need to get expensive staying in Jiufen. The Guesthouse had a microwave, toaster, free coffee and tea, a hot and cold water dispenser, a kettle and a fridge....so think 7-eleven. Excellent WiFi. There's transport down the hill every few minutes, and very easy to do a day trip to the Pingxi-line villages. If I knew it was so nice, then I would have booked more nights.

Too many hurdles to pass after booking, regarding payment...and more hurdles to pass during check in, but you will manage. Needs simplyfying for foreigners.
