Eden Eco Village

Fantastic view of sunset, very relaxing location. Great food.

I definetly liked the view on the river. It was really beautiful. Also you could book kayaks for free. And the Wifi was good.

This might be a little weird to talk about but in my bathroom I could only pee. I needed to take a sh*t there were extra compost facilities. It was not that bad but I found it very impractical. Also the food was not that good. They really say how good their food is but it tasted like nothing.

There is just something about staying on the water in a traditional home that makes you feel like reality doesn’t exist. Not having luxuries somehow added to this experience I will never forget. Being there in a way changes you to make you realise the simple things in life and “quietness”. Yes other reviewers commented on noise specifically regarding the boats coming back at dawn and the call for prayer but somehow hearing the boats and opening your eyes to see them come past from your bed, all adds to the unique experience and magic. Location wise besides for the hostel next door is awesome it’s far enough away from the village/city but not inaccessible. We hired a scooter from the backpackers next door and it was a wonderful 10-15 min ride into town. If you looking for luxury this is not the place for you. But I think part of the charm is this place is because there is no luxury, it’s one with nature and it’s traditional that where the magic is that you won’t find at a hotel or place with luxury. Give it a try and you will see what I mean.

Agree with other reviewers not much they can do about neighbours. But the litter coming through the backpackers to get to Eden needs to be cleaned up it doesn’t reflect well on Eden and when maintenance or building needs to be done it needs to be covered with green shade cloth.

The bungalows right on the river are amazing for relaxing on the hammocks. Two kayaks are available for free at the property, which is a lovely idea to start the day on the river. We appreciated the welcoming drinks and fruit plates, the breakfast (not included) was delicious.

We have to admit that we stayed there only one night and we had bad weather. In order to make most of this place and to fully enjoy the experience, we recommend going only if good weather is announced. The bungalows are quite cozy and offer a beautiful view on the river, but expect very simple facilities (not for everybody).

We stayed in a river view cabin, which was great. Food is good. Staff are friendly. We used the free kayaks to go to Green Cathedral. And did a tuktuk day tour which was awesome.

Bathroom floor could be better. But nothing mayor.

The place is so nice, a bit far from the city center but its 5 dollars and 10 minutes by tuktuk or 10 mins by motorbike. The rooms are nice and next to the river but there are a lot of mosquitoes, be ready for that. I´d spend one night and if you like it, extend the booking. The breakfast and food is quite good.
