The Birdhouse Backpackers Hostel

I loved everything about the hostel.....I felt safe, secure and comfortable in all aspects. Met Nice travellers and it has great vibes. Only thing, they can have separate smoking zone, so that non-smokers like me are happy.

The view and garden were really good. Maya the labrador was also really cute and stoic. The outdoor space was overall well-maintained.

The bathrooms could be much cleaner and the place could be maintained much better. There were leaks and rust all over the place. The water heater often didn't work in some rooms. That was the most disappointing part.

The location is great and it has small garden for bonfires.

The hostel used to be quite good. However, during my recent visit, I noticed a decline in cleanliness, and the volunteer caretaker didn’t explain the facilities very well. Although I don’t consume alcohol and was informed in advance that it's not allowed, I observed long-term residents openly drinking on the premises. Additionally, quiet hours were not properly enforced, the caretaker, who was supposed to maintain the rules, seemed not to instruct others to maintain the silence as he was also involved in that.

The property is nestled cozily on the side of an uphill road. The views are mesmerising, especially at night when you see the houses on the mountain twinkle. I loved my stay here. Great place to visit with a group of friends, your partner, as well as solo. Pretty safe if you're a woman travelling solo. You can chill in the garden, read, paint, and bask in the lap of nature. Would recommend 100%. Tip: Although Swiggy delivers here, carry snacks and fruits with yourself.
