Backpackers St. Pauli

The position is very good in St.Pauli neighborhood. You can reach Metro Station (u-Bahn) in 10 min by walk, you can reach Reeperbahn in 15 min by walk. For the night is safe, around is nothing so much but you can move to Schanzenviertel in 5 min and there is much life and cool students bars. The bedroom is clean and there is locker, they also give sleeping blankets.

The check in is at 15:00, it's not automatic, so I know is a standard but for solo travelers is quite difficult, also there is no guarded deposit for backpacks, just leave it in the hall.

Before coming I was honestly quite anxious and reserved after having read the reviews regarding all Hamburg hostels, since they were really mixed, like from really bad to really good. However after my trip Im not sure why the negative reviews for St. Pauli's. Yes, maybe it is more on the basic side but it is clean and comfortable, the room I was in was spacious, there are big lockers, toilets with all the supplies, even a hairdryer. It is in a residential area and even though there are many coffeeshops and bars nearby, still they are not close enough to be affected by the noise thereof. There is also a spacious well equipped kitchen if you need to cook or just store your food. And the price is more than reasonable, taking into account how expensive Hamburg is, being one of the most expensive cities in Germany. So for everyone on the budget, this hostel is more than a great deal. I've been to many hostels and hotels and this one is actually cleaner and more comfortable than many of them. Just read the rules, respect the rules, have a reality check and you'll have more than a pleasant stay.

It is more about the common sense of your fellow roommates on how to behave in a setting like this than the hostel itself. Ill never understand why it is so difficult to quietly close the door instead of letting it slam every single time you come and go, it is really beyond me :))))))
