The Mission Bunkhouse

Bed could do with a new duvet/duvet wash, sweaty man slept in it before me and armpit smell lingered . . . 🤔

The bunkbed I stayed in had the softest duvet cover and I was so tired it was a welcome surprise.

It was exactly what we needed for one night, having arrived on ferry and getting train the next day. Chavdar was very welcoming.

It was exactly as presented. A basic room, with single beds (only a couple do not have bunk beds, great for us old folk!) Comfortable and cozy. Shared bathroom, but plenty of shower stalls and toilet stalls. In Mallaig you don't spend time in your room anyway. We felt very smug not paying hundreds of dollars for a fancy hotel room!

Lots of stairs, but only a problem if you are old and unstable like me! But it was doable, just a heads up for really infirm people!

I really liked the location, and the facilities provided were lovely

It’s not the properties fault, but the seagulls overnight were SO loud!!!!!! We wrongly presumed the earplugs provided were for the other guests- the gulls were far worse! Literally all night like an alarm, I don’t know how the locals put up with it!
