Lovely hostel right in the centre of town. Macondo has really comfortable rooms and the shared spaces are spotless. Shaun and the team are super attentive, they helped us book all our excursions and even helped us with our onward travel plans after some disruptions due to road blocks in the north. There are also a few organised social activities on in the week like Football and Tejo which was a nice addition to our stay. Would highly recommend

Superbe accueil et personnel toujours présent pour aider dans les activités/les transports, espaces communs très agréables ! Cuisine bien équipée, salle de bains toujours propres et bon système d'eau chaude.

Rajoutez juste des lampes de chevet et ça sera parfait

I came to San Gil specifically to go rafting and the team at Macondo were fantastic. They helped organise everything, with regular updates, they even lent me a pair of old shoes to use in the river. In between rafting and sightseeing trips, the hostel was a fabulous base in San Gil. I met some great people, the garden is beautiful, and the hammocks are perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Me gustó lo amables que son todos, desde el staff que te llama por tu nombre que te dice buenos días, te ayudan a buscar tours, te dan recomendaciones de como tomar el transporte, el dueño es extremadamente amable, habla a la perfección ingles y español, la gente es extremadamente amable, te sientes realmente en casa, no importa si vas solo o sola. hay diversas areas para pasar el rato, trabajar si necesitas concentrarte, o conversar con gente. Este es literalmente el mejor hostel donde me he quedado.

Todo en Macondo es genial :)

One of the cleanest if not the cleanest hostel we have ever visited. The owner and employees are very nice and helpful. Thank you Shaun for the great stories, Yeffer and Diego for you warm welcomes and contagious smiles.

Really friendly hostel vibe which encourages socialising whilst providing information on what activities to do in San Gil. Staff are great, everything was clean, Tejo Tuesday's shouldn't be missed. Good stuff all round

The staff here is incredible! They are so lovely and helped us organize everything!!!

The beds despite the incredible staff my entire body was sore every morning from the beds (stayed in a private room for 3). If they can add a topper or something that would make this amazing.
