De locatie was goed en was centraal gelegen, vlakbij restaurants en winkelcentra.

In het hostel kan je uitstappen boeken. Anderhalfuur voordat wij voor een uitstap zouden vertrekken, werd ons opeens gezegd dat de activiteit niet door kon gaan omdat 2 anderen af hadden gezegd, tenzij wij extra zouden betalen. We vonden dit een bizarre gang van zaken en zijn hier ook niet mee akkoord gegaan. Gelukkig was er iemand van de staff die Engels sprak en uiteindelijk zijn we tot een consensus gekomen. Maar het was onnodig veel gedoe en als wij niets gedaan hadden, dan was er ook geen oplossing voor ons gezocht geweest. Dit heeft ons veel stress opgeleverd. De kamers waren standaard tot matig. 1 kamer (2e verdieping, gedeeld sanitair, standaard kamer) hadden we wel slippers, maar geen andere zaken zoals een handdoek of water. Op de andere, luxere kamer (4e verdieping, eigen badkamer), hadden we wel handdoeken en water, maar geen slippers. Geen wereldramp, maar wel een beetje vreemd. Op de tweede verdieping was het erg gehorig. Op de vierde verdieping viel het mee, maar daar had je ook niet de living waar veel mensen samen kwamen. Tijdens onze reis doorheen Gansu, was dit wel het meest teleurstellende hostel, zeker omdat we meer hadden verwacht met de hoge score op Booking.

"Great choice in Zhangye"

The people are extremely friendly and accommodating. Everything is kept clean very well. The taxi service to and from the rainbow mountains was great. The rooms are nice and offer enough privacy. Great hot shower!
