Joy River Backpackers

The property was really beautiful but simple. Everything felt down to earth but it had everything we needed. The host was friendly and helpful and the accomodation is located perfectly for exploring the panorama route, especially the blyde River Canyon.

In the first place the way to get to the accomodation felt a bit umsafe but we quickly felt better when the host told us the village is safe and also when everyone was really friendly to us.

A great place to stay in the nature next to blade river canyon !

Mormela ,the village ,is like heaven in the ground.The host Marriet is always with you during your stay and even after your stay is over.A 65 year lady will become your friend very shortly.The facilities given inside the property are very thoughtfully placed and have a sense of beauty.You will never feel lost in the kitchen,as every single utensils and appliances are ready for use. In short,I am not saying,you will miss the property if not chosen but you will miss a nice spot in the Blyde river area.

The approach road and markings could have been better.

a very nice, quirky place run by the very nice and quirky Marietta. Basic but very comfortable.

no WiFi - not a big deal, but...

Mariette was very friendly, she is proud of het propperty and it shows. Neat, clean and tranquil. I shall visit her again if opportunity present itself - without thinking twice. A sensory feast, beautiful surroundings. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The road is a gravel roads and needs some attention (we travelled by car)

Mariette was very helpful but also super nice company. Place is very well equipped and clean.

For someone who grew up in the city. This was a new experience. The rooms,the fire powered bathroom and the fact that it is just next the river. You get a farm experience with a touch of luxury. We got to be in touch with nature and it was heavenly!
