I liked the vibe and the willingness to keep everyone up to date with events etc. I also thought the staff were friendly.

Found the policy of having to pay in cash a little strange given it was the only place in Brazil where I had to do that. Also, I didn't always feel safe walking down the road towards the hostel and found that sometimes you had to wait a long time to be let in. It just felt a little unsafe late at night. Maybe having a card or code system might be better?

The location is amazing in a beautiful part of town. The staff is lovely!

Everything, easy to get new friends, the staff...

Was expensive, because of the Carnaval, also we don't have access to the kitchen.

great breakfast and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of pelo, lot's of advice on where to spend the day for pre carnival celebrations and opportunities to meet other travellers (if you wanted!!)

The outdoor and communal area was lovely, staff were incredibly helpful and location was great

The room was slightly cramped with no ladder for the bunk and no kitchen

Perfect, bathroom, pool, commun area were clean every day !

So so friendly ! Perfect location and really good homemade Caipirinha & breakfast!!!

The few good things of this hostel are the happy hour with free Capirina that facilitates the socializing, and the location in the old town. Cleanliness is also on point, with the maids taking care of the place several times during the day.

Unfortunately there were too many things that in my opinion didn't justify the relatively high price. - no kitchen at all, no fridge, nothing. - credit card payment not accepted (in Brazil you can pay by card everywhere) - very indoor small common room, with only two desks. If you need to work on your laptop, good luck to find a free spot. - The bottom of my old wooden bed fell apart during the night, which basically impeded my sleep, and the day after I got severe back pain. I found unacceptable such negligence from the owners, (but after all who cares, we are just the people giving them the money, right? why should we expect some basic comfort). I was too exhausted to ask for refund, but I regret not having done it. Of course I didn't get any apologies either. - The cherry on the cake is that you have to make the bed yourself and in the morning un-make it and bring the sheets at the reception.

- good location in the centre of Salvador - free breakfast - easy to connect with other travellers (e.g. WhatsApp group for the hostel) - daily suggestions of the staff regarding parties and concerts

- bunk beds are quite unstable, when you move the whole bed shakes - no ladders, very difficult to get up to the top bed - bathrooms often not clean and occupied
