Hostel-Agência Chapada Backpackers

Great stay here. The room was a decent size and the bed comfortable. The hostel organises tours and treks so super convenient to have everything all under one roof. The staff were friendly also and the hostel is located in a quiet area.

Curtains for the beds would be a nice touch. There are people waking up early for the treks while some have returned the night before so a bit of separation can make for a more comfortable stay. That said, it’s super value for money so can’t complain too much.

What I liked about Chapada Backpackers is the space for like-minded people to come together. It's easy to find new friends who have either just finished the trek or are going on the trek. As is probably evident, the Chapada Backpacker Hostel is also an agency for the trekking trips, of which I did the 3d/2n Vale do Pati . The cleaning was thorough every day. I liked the 4-person female dorm, it felt comfortable, thoguh the window when it is open is kind of just open to the street, and I guess for some people that might feel unsafe. There are 2 kitchens and they are very well stocked. I think that was one of my favorite features because I was really looking forward to cooking vegetables after very meat heavy and sandwich-heavy meals for a week. Also I can't recall a lock on the door, and the female dorm is close to the main entrance which is open 24/7 so it makes it a little bit non-secure for some people. It is on a very quiet street and I did not have any suspicion that any bad things could happen but that is never a guarantee

This hostel lacks a common space. There's only the narrow hallway between the front desk and the back desk (where people book trips) so it's always cluttered with backpacks and people changing shoes. When it is raining, there is nowehre else to be except maybe the kitchen and the second story dining area, but no comfortable chairs (just wooden ones). And when it rains a lot, everything gets wet, it's hard to keep things dry as the rain kind of comes in from all directions in the courtyard and splashes around.
