For the value, it was a comfortable stay. Close to the airport, 10 minute uber, so it's great for a quick trip in-and-out.

free parking in pubic car park right next door. bed was more comfortable than expensive hotels. great budget hostel accommodation away from city centre but very close to public transport coffee shop next door

fan in room wasn’t working properly

good value for money. less than 5min to the train and tram stations - about 30min into the city. free washing machine. it’s nice and small (maybe like 5 or 6 rooms) hence not too crowded and it was a nice atmosphere in between the backpackers. the lady who runs it doesn’t speak English but is an absolutely lovely woman and tries her very best to make you most welcome. really enjoyed my stay there!!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Close to Essendon station and tram stop. Small room with shared bathroom and a fan, no aircon, but the price is very reasonable.

bit out of the city but less than a minute from train and tram stations which take direct route to centre, host was welcoming, really clean and room was comfortable.

Melbourne needs more hostels like this! Very relaxed and more of a homey vibe than any of the other hostels in Australia. Everything you need, bathroom, kitchen and all spaces were spotless. Power points next to every bed. Owner was so sweet! Super welcoming and constantly around in case you need something. She has her phone with Google Translate so unsure why others have been bothered about not speaking English. Great value for money and a very welcome change from the usual hostel vibes in Australia. Well connected with public transport too! 10 mins walk from beautiful Queens Park and supermarket/heaps of cute shops, cafes, restaurants. 1 min to train and tram.

As others have mentioned, there is a little noise. The main thing is because the hostel is next to the train station. It’s close enough unfortunately that it doesn’t fade into the background, and the trains run every hour during the night. But I only stayed for one night! So didn’t get to experiment with wearing ear plugs and maybe that could help 🙏🏽Apart from this, everything was absolutely perfect, can’t fault!
