Old Radio hostel

I stayed in the dorm room. The room has one toilet the staff always come in to make sure it is cleaned. They also provide hair dryer which is handy. The yard is lovely and is a very good social place. Highly recommend

Close proximity to the tourist spots! All within walking distance. There’s also restaurant outside that serves good and cheap plov. They served good breakfast and the most amongst my other hostels stay.

8 beds with just one toilet (shower room together) so the waiting time will be longer.

I think he was the owner, or the manager, he was super nice and called me by my name which is very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious! Big bathroom. Very central location

The mattress was uncomfortable for me however I had a nice stay overall

This hostel is a warm, safe and clean place, and the manager is an interesting kind person. It is beautifully decorated with photos and old radios and other objects. He loves Art! The breakfast was too good!! Rahmat

Hairdryer wasn’t working well

Great first impressions, good communication. Great location lots of hostels opposite and hotels. Unfortunately Yandex Go accept but don't drive to the street. You need to walk ~5-7 minutes (not suitable if you have a trolley/wheeled suitcase as the ground is tiled). Decent shower (has a shower head holder which Bukhura and Khiva didn't). The towel was small and had tassels at each end...a prayer mat? Another (wet) white folded towel was put on the bed by the grandfather. Thin mattress (New Zealand guy had warned me). Buttocks and hips hurt from it. It's hot on the upper bunk and the pillow is thin. It's also 2 metres high and we laughed as a rock climber struggled to get up due to the lack of hand holds (and the mug sizes shelf was far from the ladder to place a mug one handed. There's a loud rooster next door so beware. The breakfast picture is three years out of date. I asked about the cheese and pastries and they said that was three years ago. Others thought the breakfast small. They also zealously remove breakfast items before you finish. So don't let go of your items (witnessed it happen to four, including Kevin). I would think going to the loo midway would result in an empty table upon return... They do have knives at this hostel which is unusual for Central Asia. Arriving at 5am I was able to get a clean bed by 12:15 and switched the breakfast to that day. It's $4 extra. Those doing the tour miss breakfast as it's 9-10am. A fellow traveler who went on the tour offered me his breakfast but the owner, Sherzod wouldn't allow me to have it as he said I wouldn't enjoy it ?! I've a screenshot of the message. Others gave me theirs as they were put off by the pink foamy stuff (I thought it was meat but Kevin wasn't sure). We all had slightly questionable toilet breaks sometime after (the pink foam is left out in a pre used container).

There wasn't a woman, it was two guys from Afghanistan... And the porridge packet he said it was from was out of date - which didn't make sense. There's CCTV but he said not in the kitchen. If I took it why would I use it there? It should be binned if out of date. I also whacked my head on the cooker head so watch out. {Only once had I been accused of having brandy food before - in Budapest and she only backed down when I return from my room with the bin and my receipt in it. Then she apologised... People ask me my favourite country/worst and only thing I say for worst is that hostel experience (where three Irish 18yo arrived in the four bedroom dorm and smoked ... Then stabbed my upper bunk with a knife whilst I was in it) The evening guy is great (7pm until 7am). Unfortunately Sherzod was doing a double shift which may explain the mood :/ Decent first impressions and the fact at least the loo paper didn't run out - first place that hasn't occurred the inflexibility of the breakfast (despite being polite and requesting permission even though it's the guests right not his) I've lowered my rating considerably. People can and do walk in off the street and guests who have arrived too early were going into the dorm to use the only bathroom (which consists of a toilet and shower). I had found some of my items used. + Location (but I knew that) + Answers to in advance questions (no need to question the breakfast as there's a (wrong) picture + Warm shower (but that's in the listing) + There's an outdoor airer...
