Tsunami Hostel

Good location and cheap for the area.

The toilet didn’t flush properly. Some silverfish and ants in the room, not uncommon for Costa Rica.

The management is excellent and very knowledgeable about many things regarding the Tamarindo area. The room was packed with beds: larger (I belive full size) bed, and a double bunk bed. The bathroom was small also, but A-typical for much of the area. The hostel is within walking distance from major attractions and restaurants also

Because of all the beds in the space within the bedroom, it is quite cramped and somewhat of a struggle getting through and into beds. The bathroom is small, but like the main bed area, there's little they can do to add space within the confines of the structure itself. They don't have warm shower water, but with temperatures in the 90s⁰F, it's not too bad

Kitchen available, they upgraded our room free of charge to a private bungalow when we checked in.

A little dirty. Biggest issue is that we got shocked using the shower due to poor electrical wiring. constant shocks using the shower, safety hazard & dangerous. We were going to ask for a refund but decided to cut our losses. We told the employee but not sure if he understood us.

Very expensive for what you get, the shower is cold water only :( I stayed in a place a few mins walk away the following night which did have a hot water tap for a nice hot shower.

Got to see some monkeys on power wires

I did not like fact I paid 16o a night then immediately after they put up $ 40 night sign . I wanted to stay extra night at reduced rate …… nope Ebikes did not work , had to pedal them back Lots of shoddiness and a little work would make place so much better No hot water is non sense Rooms were not made Cheap , dirty , disgusting and I felt cheated
