Montevideo Port Hostel

The only person who.helpes is the girl in reception Ans the only good thing that theres ac in the room.but still has the feeling of sleeping in a bus station

My expirience of the place is horribble. It is def not a hostel for tourists. Its just a regular hostel for people that needs it. A permanent house for locals that was making noise all night and dont really care from others (few specific ppl) Also rhe guy of the night shift refused to give me toilet paper at 6 Am when it was over because " i shouldnt ask for nothing in this hour because people wake up only later" I work and live in a hostel in my country and i def now the weird ppl and expiriences its coming wirh.but this was a whole new level. Make yourself a favor and choose a different place while u in Uruguay.

Good location

The front desk person asking more amount higher than Booking dot com mentioned price. He said booking.com is not related and in reception is different price, after i argued and shouted finally he accepted. Not clean. See many Cockroaches in the kitchen. So dirty. Toilet not clean and sometimes no tissue papers.

We had a great time in the hostel ! Everything was perfect and everyone super super friendly and helpful !! The place is insanely beautiful- super nice building with mega terraces on the roof, the view is mind blowing!! We arrived very late, but that was no problem. There is a 24h reception. Rick opened the door for us and was VERY helpful with all our questions and needs. We needed to change money and Rick even helped us out with his private money !!! The purpose of our travel was to pick up our Van from the port, unfortunately we had to check out a little later. We asked and got super fast the answer that there is no problem at all. :) would definitely recommend this hostel.

Nothing. It sucked big time overall. A disgusting, dirty place in a very shady area near the port. Horrible value.

Everything. A smell of mold. A rundown, decrepit old building. A dirty kitchen for guests' use with a clogged up sink and a pile of dishes waiting there forever.

Security, felt safe, I was able to park for free at the front. Attentive personnel cared about me all the time. Location plenty of places to buy stuff nearby, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores. Value for money, it was a good.deal.

Some messy people that left the kitchen completely dirty and didn't wash their dishes and kitchenware properly(guests).

It's a cozy place with everything you need handy, accomodations are adequate and they are always doing something to improve them. I'm not a Hostel type of guy accustomed to premium luxury places,, but this Hostel is a promise. With large spaces a full kitchen with refrigerators, and freezers, lockers,community room, with free coffee, an amazing rooftop with recliners, a barbecue, a grill and beautiful views of the port. Conveniently located in Ciudad Vieja, the old city, the original settlement, it offers plenty of places to walk, ride a bike, and historic museums and monuments, also many nearby stores, convenient stores and parking lots. It offers the casual traveler, the tourist or digital nomads a place to stay at affordable prices.

There was too much lenience with troublemakers, dirty people that didn't cleaned up properly after themselves, and contributed to a kitchen mess, and dirty restrooms, because they were tolerated. But even this negative point is been improving..

The place is infected with bed bugs, it is dirty and deteriorated, unsanitary. At night the power goes out and the place is unsafe. The mattresses are infected and in poor condition. I couldn't sleep because of the bedbug bites, they left my whole body irritated.

The reception staff were wonderful. Extremely helpful and friendly. The kitchen was big, with 2 fridges that worked, and had a table and chairs. There were tables and chairs, as well as sofas in the lounge. The roof terrace was great, with chairs and loungers, and shelter from the sun, but not the rain. Hot water showers.

Only one shower with a shower head. No toilet paper in the ladies toilet. No soap in toilets. No way to dry your hands. Cockroaches everywhere, including the kitchen. Kitchen filthy. Uneven mattress. Kettle didn't work. There is a "Public Relations" man working, and living there, who does not stop talking ha ha. No public relations skills...to the point of making me feel awkward. Missing window pane in bedroom covered with a piece of paper! No plugs next to beds for charging. Vacated beds not cleaned and remade. Just generally dirty. Apparently they are tackling the cockroach problem, and cleaning up the public areas, so I wish them all the best. This hostel has huge potential.

The overall location and easiness to get there were good. The bed and bathroom were ok for the price. They had a good kitchen and public area.

Didn't have credit card option and didnt publicize this in the site. Hostel staff would watch TV loudly during the whole night, making it difficult to sleep.
